Easy Homemade Vanilla Pudding

Introduction

Vanilla pudding is a simple yet comforting dessert loved by both children and adults. Its creamy texture and delicate vanilla flavor make it a perfect ending to any meal.

Making pudding at home is easy and requires only a few basic ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together sugar and cornstarch.

  2. Gradually add milk while stirring to avoid lumps.

  3. Cook over medium heat while stirring constantly.

  4. In a small bowl, lightly beat the egg yolk.

  5. Slowly mix a small amount of the hot pudding mixture into the egg yolk to temper it.

  6. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook until thickened.

  7. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla extract.
