Classic Homemade Lasagna

Introduction

Lasagna is a classic dinner dish loved by families all over the world. With layers of pasta, rich meat sauce, creamy cheese, and baked perfection, it is a comforting meal that is perfect for sharing.

Although lasagna takes a little more time to prepare than other dinners, the result is a hearty and satisfying dish that everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles

  • 400 g ground beef

  • 2 cups tomato sauce

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 onion (chopped)

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions.

  3. In a pan, cook chopped onion and garlic until soft.

  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned.

  5. Stir in tomato sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  6. In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce.

  7. Add a layer of noodles, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella.

  8. Repeat the layers until ingredients are used.

  9. Finish with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.

  10. Bake for about 35–40 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Serving Tip

Allow the lasagna to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to help the layers hold together.
